When is IMAT usually held?

IMAT exam usually takes place on September, but it might also be held in October. For example, in 2023, IMAT took place on October 17th, but in 2024 it was held on September 17th.

Is IMAT hard?

Yes, IMAT is considered a hard exam. Until 2022, the exam was run by Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing and the test was of a high difficulty. However, in 2024, IMAT exam was the easiest one since it was created, and the thresholds really skyrocketed, reaching 70+ for non-EU students to be admitted. Also, no one has got the total points of 90 in the IMAT history.

Where can I take IMAT?

You can take the test wherever you want. You can complete the test in each university of the Italy that offers Medicine in English as well as in 24 countries across the world. The list of foreign countries updates each year by the official decree.

What is a good IMAT score?

It really depends on the difficulty of the test. Until 2023, a 40+ score for EU candidates and a 50+ score for NON-EU candidates could be enough to enter one of the medical schools in Italy. However, in 2024, when the IMAT was the easiest one, a 60+ score for EU candidates and a 70+ score for NON-EU ones could be safe to be admitted.
